LED eyelashes Singapore — light-up lash extensions at Serenity Beaute Tanjong Pagar

The first LED eyelashes appeared at music festivals around 2018. Eight years later, they've quietly evolved from a novelty into a legitimate event-night accessory — popular enough at Singapore's ZoukOut, Ultra Singapore, F1 Night Race events, and Halloween circuits that we introduced them as a professional service at Serenity Beaute.

This is the honest guide we wish every first-time client read before their first pair — what they actually are, where to get them done properly in Singapore, what to expect, and how the professional service differs from the DIY kits you see on Lazada and Shopee.

What LED eyelashes actually are

LED eyelashes are false eyelashes with miniature battery-powered LEDs embedded along the lash band. You connect the lash to a small lithium coin battery hidden behind your ear or in your hair — the LEDs glow, pulse, or run a colour sequence depending on the model.

The LEDs themselves are tiny (about the size of a grain of rice), low-voltage, and produce no heat. They're powered by CR1632 or similar coin batteries that last 4-8 hours of continuous use — comfortably enough for a full festival night or wedding reception.

Important distinction: LED eyelashes are NOT permanent lash extensions with LEDs glued on. They are temporary, removable false lashes. Most professional applications last 12-24 hours and the lashes themselves can be reused several times with proper care.

Where to get LED eyelashes in Singapore

You have three options:

  1. DIY at home from a Lazada / Shopee / AliExpress kit. Cheapest (SGD 8-25 for a pair) but the kits ship with low-grade adhesive that often fails halfway through the night. Application is fiddly — most first-timers take 20-30 minutes per eye and end up with LEDs that sit too far from the lash line.
  2. Generic beauty salons with novelty add-ons. A handful of SG salons apply LEDs as an occasional special-occasion add-on. Quality varies wildly. Ask if they use medical-grade adhesive vs the cheap kit adhesive — most salons don't.
  3. Award-winning lash specialists like Serenity Beaute. The professional service. Same medical-grade adhesive and lash-isolation technique we use for our award-winning regular extensions, calibrated to your specific eye shape, with the LED batteries positioned where they don't pull or sag. From $128 first trial.

What to expect at a professional LED lash appointment

At Serenity Beaute, the LED lash appointment takes about 45-60 minutes. Here's the flow:

  • 10 min consultation: we map your eye shape (same protocol as our regular extensions), discuss colour pairing for your outfit/event, and check for any contraindications (recent eye surgery, pregnancy, sensitivities).
  • 5 min prep: we cleanse the lash line, tape down your lower lashes with hypoallergenic medical pads, and prepare the LED lash pair + battery pack.
  • 20-30 min application: the LEDs are glued to the lash band with medical-grade adhesive, applied to the natural lash line one section at a time, and the battery wire routed discreetly behind the ear.
  • 5 min check + activation: we activate the battery, photograph the result in low light, and make any final colour-pairing adjustments.
  • 5 min removal brief: we walk you through how to remove them at home, hand you a removal aftercare card, and remind you we offer professional removal for $25 if you'd prefer.

You'll leave the studio with the LEDs already on and ready to glow for your event.

Pricing in Singapore — honest 2026 numbers

  • DIY kit (Lazada/Shopee): SGD 8-25 per pair
  • Generic salon add-on: SGD 80-150 per application (varies)
  • Serenity Beaute first trial: SGD 128
  • Serenity Beaute regular: SGD 168
  • LED layered over existing lash extensions: +SGD 30
  • Professional removal-only: SGD 25

The price gap between DIY and professional reflects three things: better adhesive, better application technique (calibrated to your eye shape), and the LED lash pair itself being yours to keep and reuse.

When LED eyelashes are right (and when they aren't)

Right for:

  • Music festivals — ZoukOut, Ultra Singapore, EDC, Tomorrowland-themed parties
  • EDM and rave events, club nights
  • F1 Night Race events, evening yacht parties
  • Halloween and themed parties
  • K-pop concert pre-parties, fan meet-ups
  • Cosplay shoots and conventions
  • Brides who want a wow-factor for the after-party
  • Editorial / fashion photoshoots in low light

Not right for:

  • Daytime weddings or work events (too dramatic)
  • Long-haul flights or daily wear
  • Anyone with active eye infections or recent LASIK (within 3 months)
  • Sleeping in (always remove before bed)

Safety: are LED eyelashes actually safe?

Yes, when applied professionally. The LEDs are low-voltage, produce no heat, and are placed away from the eye surface. The risks are the same as any false eyelash application: adhesive reaction (rare with medical-grade adhesive), incorrect placement causing pulling on the natural lash, or improper removal.

At Serenity Beaute we use the same adhesives we use for our award-winning eyelash extensions. We patch-test on request for sensitive-eye clients, and we never apply LED lashes to clients on Accutane within the past 12 months or with active eye infections.

How to remove LED eyelashes

At the end of the night:

  1. Switch off the LED battery first.
  2. Apply an oil-based eye makeup remover with a cotton pad and hold against the lash line for 30 seconds. The adhesive softens.
  3. Gently lift the lash from the outer corner inward — do NOT pull from the middle.
  4. Disconnect the battery wire from the lash carefully.
  5. Clean the lash band with adhesive remover so you can reuse it for the next event.
  6. Store the lash pair in its original case, flat.

If you're bridal or doing a major shoot, we offer professional removal at $25 — saves 10 minutes of fiddling after a long night.
