What your lash design actually needs to do

A great set of lash extensions should make your eyes look more like themselves — cleaner, brighter, more open — not borrowed from someone else's Instagram. That's the difference between a lash design that flatters and one that just follows a trend.

At Serenity Beaute, every appointment begins with a 15-minute face-mapping consultation. We study your eye shape, lid depth, natural lash density, and lifestyle before a single extension is placed. The result is a design built for your face. Not a template.

The core lash designs — and what each achieves

Understanding the landscape of lash extension styles helps you arrive at your appointment with clarity. Here's how the main designs differ in effect, weight, and occasion.

Classic lashes

One extension placed on one natural lash. Classic lashes add definition and length without adding obvious volume. They're the closest thing to a mascara effect — effortlessly polished, entirely undetectable at conversational distance. If your natural lashes are fairly full and you want refinement rather than drama, classic is the right foundation.

Natural volume lashes

A small fan of two to four ultra-fine fibres applied to a single natural lash. The effect is softer fullness — not heavier, because the individual fibres are finer than a classic extension. This is the most-requested design among everyday wearers who want lashes that look real but noticeably better.

Russian / mega volume lashes

Highly dense fans of six or more ultra-fine fibres per natural lash. The result is a deep, sculpted eye — strong enough for stage and photography, glamorous enough for bridal events. Because the fibres are KC-certified ultra-fine material, even a mega-volume set sits lighter than it looks.

Wispy and textured lashes

Wispy designs layer mixed lengths to create a feathered, dimensional look with visible spikes at intervals. They photograph exceptionally well and suit those who want movement and texture rather than uniform density. Increasingly popular for bridesmaids and portrait sessions — but only flattering when the spike placement is mapped to your eye's natural architecture.

The Pageant Collection

Serenity Beaute's signature offering for performers, contestants, and brides who need to command a room. The Pageant Collection combines precision volume work with strategic length placement to open, lift, and project the eye — visible from the front row, flawless in close-up photography. Hand-crafted lash-by-lash, with no shortcuts.

Matching lash designs to eye shape

Eye shape is the single biggest variable in lash design. Getting it wrong doesn't just look off — it can actually make eyes appear smaller or unbalanced.

  • Almond eyes — the most versatile shape; most lash designs work well. Volume and wispy styles have maximum impact here.
  • Monolid eyes — longer lengths at the centre create the illusion of depth; curl selection matters more than density.
  • Round eyes — cat-eye mapping (longer extensions at the outer corners) elongates and balances the eye's natural openness.
  • Hooded eyes — a higher curl grade and placement closer to the root lifts the visual lid line without adding excessive length that disappears under the fold.
  • Close-set eyes — weight placed toward the outer two-thirds draws the eyes apart naturally.
  • Wide-set eyes — denser placement at the inner corners rebalances proportion.

This is exactly the kind of mapping that happens in the face-mapping session at the start of every Serenity Beaute appointment. It's not a consultation designed to upsell you into a pricier set. It's there to make sure whichever design you choose actually works for your face.

What makes a lash design last

The longevity of any lash set depends on three things: the quality of the adhesive, the skill of application, and your aftercare habits. At Serenity Beaute, we use hypoallergenic adhesives and KC-certified fibres exclusively — materials chosen for retention and safety, always.

All of our master artists carry 7+ years of experience and hold continuous accreditation. That matters because precise isolation (ensuring no two natural lashes are bonded together) is what determines how naturally your extensions shed and how healthy your natural lashes stay between appointments.

A well-applied design on a healthy natural lash should move, hold, and look consistent from day one through to your next infill.

How to choose your lash design before you book

If you're new to extensions or reconsidering your usual style, these questions sharpen the brief:

  1. What's the occasion? Everyday wear calls for classic or natural volume; events and photography invite wispy, full volume, or Pageant Collection styles.
  2. How much maintenance do you want? Fuller designs typically require infills sooner. A lighter set gives you flexibility.
  3. What does your natural lash allow? Very fine or sparse natural lashes have physical limits — an honest artist works with your lash health, not against it.
  4. What effect do you want at a glance? Wider awake, more dramatic, more defined — each has a corresponding design.

Bring reference images if you have them. Bring your honest lifestyle too. That 15-minute face-mapping session is your chance to get a second opinion from an artist who has been doing this since 2018 and has helped shape the lash preferences of brides, performers, and everyday guests across Singapore.

One uncompromising standard, across every design

Seven industry awards from Beauty Insider and Daily Vanity since 2019 — including the 2026 Best Signature Lash Transformation Readers' Choice — are the result of one consistent approach: never defaulting to a trend when the guest's face tells a different story.

With a 4.9/5 rating across 327+ verified Google reviews, our guests will tell you the same thing in their own words: the extensions looked like a better version of their own lashes. That's the only result we're satisfied with.

We don't do trends. We do faces.
